About Us

            MichTel Communications is a facilities based competitive local exchange carrier licensed by the State of Michigan, providing high quality voice and data connectivity for both residential and business clients over both wired and wireless networks in South East Michigan. The company commenced operations in 2003 after acquiring substantial portions of the assets of two Michigan based telecommunications companies. It further expanded its operation in a 2004 acquisition to include wireless services.

            MichTel Communications offers a full suite of both voice and data products to meet the demanding needs of both business and residential customers.

            MichTel Communications was awarded the contract for the Wireless Oakland initiative in 2005 after a detailed in-depth bid process. This ambitious plan will blanket all 910 square miles of Oakland County. This project will provide free internet access to all County residences. It will also provide the technological platform to offer our full suite of business and residential services. Wireless Oakland is the largest endeavor of it's kind in the country.
